Hyundai Sets Fuel Cell Land Speed Record Using the Tucson

A lot has been made recently about alternative fuel sources for cars. While the new Hyundai lineup has hybrid models, and fuel-efficient gas-powered vehicles, the automaker has also dipped into another area: fuel cell technology. In fact, one of our popular SUVs, the Tucson, has a fuel cell model available in select markets. Not only does it run using water, but it also sets records.

The Tucson Fuel Cell set the land speed record for a fuel cell SUV by topping out at 94.6 miles per hour during a test in the California desert. That's pretty potent, and shows you that a vehicle running only on water is capable of putting the pedal to the metal, if need be. In addition, the Tucson Fuel Cell can go 265 miles on a single fill, and only takes five minutes to fill up.

If you want to learn more about fuel cell technology, while also taking a look at our selection of vehicles, stop in to Millennium Hyundai here in Hempstead, NY today. Our team would be happy to showcase models, and arrange test drives.
